Gratitude Garden

Write one small thing you are thankful for. It grows into a flower. Over time, your meadow fills with good things.

What is Gratitude Garden?

Write one small thing you are thankful for. It grows into a flower. Over time, your meadow fills with good things. It is one of 23 small, calm places in Pocket Meadow, a relaxation app for iPhone and iPad.

What it looks and feels like

A sunny meadow sits under a blue sky with soft hills. Each thank-you you write grows into a different flower: daisies, tulips, sunflowers and more, with butterflies drifting between them. Tap any flower and a small card opens with the date, your words and your photo, so you can revisit the good things whenever you like.

Why it can help you slow down

Noticing small good things is a simple practice many people enjoy, and researchers such as Robert Emmons have studied how keeping a gratitude journal relates to wellbeing.

Gratitude Garden turns that practice into a meadow you can see: every thank-you becomes a flower, and you can tap any flower to read it again on a harder day.

How to use Gratitude Garden

  3. Watch it grow into a flower.
  4. Tap any flower to read it again.
  5. Come back to grow your garden over time.

When to use it

  • When the day felt hard and you want to notice one good thing

Tips for a calmer moment

  • Add a photo to remember the moment.
  • Revisit old flowers on difficult days.
  • You can remove any flower.

Try it without the app

Each evening, write down three small things that went well today, in a notebook or on your phone.
